In 1947 the great designer Christian Dior created a radical collection he called 'The New Look' that turned the fashion world on its ear. It's less known that the same year he also created a similar line for cats called 'The Mew Look.' Out in the woods with a fresh snowfall, it's difficult for anyone to resist flopping on the soft, white, fluffy stuff and making snow angels. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. Cats really love boxes. Leave one around for any length of time and you don't have to coax a cat to climb in and have a nap. That's why I think cats really embody the true spirit of Christmas: they don't need a fancy present, just give them the empty box.
An artist has to create with her heart. That's why Heather created snow sculptures about a topic that she is well-versed with. This year, Heather will be sending home-made baked goods to her human family and friends. It's her own recipe called pawprint cookies, similar to fingerprint cookies. They're great, as long as you don't mind a wee bit of fur in them.
Once one gets to a 'certain age,' one's friends think it's so funny to bring a fire extinguisher when you're blowing out the birthday candles. In reality, this might be a wise precaution in case your whiskers catch fire. Heather knows all the important things there are to know about skiing: 1. When sitting on the chairlift, always face the sun so you get an even tan. 2. Always wear a really nice ski suit. 3. Never ever fall right under the chairlift, where people can see you. It's heart-wrenching to be apart while in love. Like Romeo and Juliet, you exchange messages from a distance. In the case of cats, a closed door might as well be an ocean that keeps young lovers separate.
Engrossed in conversation on their daily powerwalk, the two mice never even suspected what might lurk behind familiar surroundings. You would think that pairing a cat and a mouse for skating might lead to trouble - that maybe the mouse wouldn't be big or strong enough to be able to lift the cat. Everyone knows that the trick is that the throwee (not the thrower) does most of the work.
Is Heather licking her lips at the cake or Tiffany? The Christmas season is a time to peruse family photo albums, and that inspired this little piece. There's no particular story behind it, except that Heather's birthday is coming up soon on January 12th and it seemed like a good time to do a portrait of her Cat-bottomed girls, they'll be riding today...
