It's funny how if you're under the weather, having the right person (or cat) taking care of you can really make a difference in how you feel. Halloween will be over shortly, and all the scary horrors will be over... unless you're a pumpkin, that is.
It's never a problem if someone extra pops by during the Halloween Feast. Just set another plate and hope there will be enough food. It's a hard and fast rule that every cat (or dog) would always rather be on the other side of the door. Usually this phrase means someone is a bit daft. Okay, I guess this applies to people who have cats in their family.
Heather darling, I don't think the Ancient Ones used duct tape when they wrapped mummies. I think it's going to hurt when you try to remove that costume. If your cat volunteers to clean her own litter box, you can be sure she's up to something. If the doorbell rings and nobody is there but there's a burning paper bag on your step...
I'm sure that as a child you read the story about Pippi... er, I mean Heather Gothstocking. It's a heart-warming tale of a little cat with braids so tight that they stood straight out, and her little pet mouse. She's smart, sassy and strong and has a great sense of adventure! Recently I lost a loved one who had Alzheimers. The interment ceremony was last weekend, on a blustery cold and rainy day. Just as the Pastor spoke a few words, the sun shone; then it disappeared as fast as it arrived. Later, on our drive home, we saw a huge, brilliant double-rainbow in the sky. I cried. It's time to unpack your heirloom Christmas decorations, and display them... if you dare. Even the best-behaved felines (like Heather) have trouble resisting the urge to play with them.
Heather is a modern-day Cinderella, not the old-fashioned kind. She has a career (scrubbing the castle from top to bottom) but still manages to party all night. In fact, when she arrives all breathless and rosy-cheeked, she's the belle of the ball. According to Heather, breakfast is the most important meal of the day (along with lunch, dinner, and plenty of snacks). In fact, of all the cats I've had close dealings with, I've never met one of those mythical finicky felines that commercials tell us about
